Snakewhip"},"content":{"rendered":"<p><strong>How to make a 4 foot snakewhip out of paracord.<\/strong> \u00a0Before you start, remember to always wear eye protection when using your whip, unless you&#8217;re <a href=\"http:\/\/www.winrichwhips.com\/\">this guy<\/a>. \u00a0The design was loosely inspired by <a href=\"http:\/\/www.instructables.com\/id\/Paracord-Bullwhip\/\">this instructable<\/a>\u00a0and takes around 6-8 hours. \u00a0I also <a title=\"sell premade whips\" href=\"http:\/\/makethethings.com\/shop\/snakewhip.php\">sell premade whips<\/a> in any combination of colors. \u00a0I currently have black, red, hot pink, and neon yellow in stock. \u00a0Please specify colors and cracker color.<\/p>\n<p><a feet (1.2 meters) lamp chain<\/li>\n<li>Metal clasp or ring<\/li>\n<li>Fire<\/li>\n<li>Needle<\/li>\n<li>Strong thread, string, or sinew<\/li>\n<li>89 feet (28 meters) 550 paracord (multiple colors look awesome)<\/li>\n<li>Measuring tape or ruler<\/li>\n<\/ul>\n<p><img loading=\"lazy\" decoding=\"async\" class=\"aligncenter size-full wp-image-70\" title=\"Optional Supplies\" tape (for a stiffer whip and to hold things in place)<\/li>\n<li>Contrasting string or ribbon for a cracker<\/li>\n<li>Sharpie and\/or crayon to mark thing<\/li>\n<li>Smooth needle nose pliers to tighten as you braid (sharp edges damage the paracord)<\/li>\n<\/ul>\n<p><a href=\"https:\/\/makeallthethings.files.wordpress.com\/2012\/05\/3.jpg\"><img loading=\"lazy\" decoding=\"async\" \/>\nCore<\/strong><\/p>\n<ul>\n<li>Cut 33 inches (84 cm) of lamp chain. \u00a0Mark with a sharpie 14 inches (35.5 cm) from one end.<\/li>\n<li>Cut 13 inches (33 cm) of lamp chain. \u00a0Mark with a sharpie 4 inches (10 cm) from one end.<\/li>\n<li>Thread lamp chain through the clasp so the marks are touching the clasp (the ends will be uneven)<\/li>\n<li>Cut 96 inches (244 cm) of paracord. \u00a0Singe both ends. \u00a0Mark in the middle with crayon.<\/li>\n<li>Thread paracord through the clasp so the mark touches the clasp and one end is loose.<\/li>\n<li>Tape everything in place so it doesn&#8217;t slip.<\/li>\n<\/ul>\n<p><a href=\"https:\/\/makeallthethings.files.wordpress.com\/2012\/05\/4.jpg\"><img loading=\"lazy\" decoding=\"async\" class=\"aligncenter size-full wp-image-79\" Layer<\/strong><\/p>\n<ul>\n<li>Put the loose end of the paracord through the other end of the clasp so it is out of the way.<\/li>\n<li>Cut 4 pieces of paracord: 99, 99, 85, 60 inches (252, 252, 216, 152 cm). \u00a0Remove the cores (white strands in the middle). \u00a0Singe the ends. \u00a0Mark each piece in the middle.<\/li>\n<li>Thread 4 pieces through the clasp so the marks are touching the clasp.<\/li>\n<li>Position the 4 pieces as shown above.<\/li>\n<\/ul>\n<p><a href=\"https:\/\/makeallthethings.files.wordpress.com\/2012\/05\/5.jpg\"><img loading=\"lazy\" decoding=\"async\" to pick up the core strand of paracord and braid with that.
